The 2012-2013 NW Showdown series moves back to our track for the final round race of the series. The series final will be held on April 27-28, 2013 at Tacoma RC Raceway. The final race will be a two day event and the track will be open for practice on friday for the event participants. This year the series will be 7 races long and visit Bremerton RC Raceway, TopGear Hobbies and Raceway, Tacoma RC Raceway and 4 Seasons Raceway. Good luck everyone. In preparation for the upcoming ShortCourse Showdown event, we will be changing the track layout on Monday, March 11th, 2013. The track will be closed to practice on the 11th, while the layout is being changed but the shop will be open. If you have the time please come by and help us by grabbing a shovel or rake, reconfiguring the track is a lot of work, ear plugs and gloves are recommended.
The prices for track use have been increased. Track rental for practice is now $4/hr or $10/day. Race entry fees are now $10 for novice class, $12 per regular class on weekdays, and $14 per regular class on weekends. As always race entry fees also cover practice for the day as well. This increase in fees is due to a reclassification of our facility, designating it as an entertainment facility and a new per head tax on track patrons.
The ShortCourse ShowDown was a great success this year. We had close to 150 entries this year, and SCB grew from just a few last year to two full heats this year. The racing was close and intense in the A-mains. Thank you to everyone who helped out and participated in the event this year. Photos from the event are up in the media section.
