NIS ROUND #2 IS IN THE BOOKS!!What an awesome weekend it was racing round #2 of NIS!! Everyone here at TRCR would like to thank each and everyone of you for coming out and having a great time. It was a terrific weekend filled with lots of intense battles and close racing. Congrats to all of our winners! We can't wait to see how round #3 pans out. Round #3 is January 21st and 22nd. Don't forget! Here's a race report of the mains and your podium photos! 4X4 Truggy 1. Zak McIsaac 2. Jon Sterling 3. Rich Miskho In the first lap of A1 for 4X4 Truggy, Zak McIsaac took the lead from Jon Sterling. McIsaac was able to keep it clean and keep his wheels on the ground to take the win in A1. McIsaac had a rough start in A2. That let Sterling stay out front the entire race. Sterling drove hard and fast which earned him the 1st place position in A2. During A3, McIsaac took the lead from Sterling early in the race. After a long 5 minutes, McIsaac came out on top and took the win. Overall Zak McIsaac took 1st, Jon Sterling took 2nd, and Rich Miskho took 3rd. Rookie 1. Cooper Wood 2. Alex Tresner 3. Kristian Smith Cooper Wood had a need for speed in A1. He took off in the lead and couldn’t be caught. Because of his clean driving, he won A1. LJ Aviso was a close second with Alex Tresner right behind him. In A2, there was a tough battle between Wood, Tresner, Jamie Smith and Kristian Smith. During the last couple laps, Wood kept his composure and took the lead back. He held on and took the win. Overall Cooper Wood took 1st, Alex Tresner took 2nd, and Kristian Smith took 3rd. 2WD Stock Buggy 1. Alli Brown 2. Dan Bell 3. Woody Garwood In the first couple laps of A1, Alli Brown took the lead. After a long race of staying consistent and driving clean, Alli Brown took the win. Dan Bell was close behind and so was Chad Hudson. Things got crazy in A2. Early on Bell took the lead and Brown fell down to the 4. Brown drove her hardest to catch up to bell and she did. In the second to last lap, Brown the lead from Bell. She tried to hold on to the lead in the last lap, but she had an unfortunate bobble coming off the double double. Bell got around her and took the win. After a rough A1 and A2 for Woody Garwood, he showed up for A3. He stayed out front the entire race. Brown was right behind for half the race but gave up the second position to Bell. Bell almost got around Garwood towards the end, but he couldn’t do it. Garwood took the win in A3. Overall Alli Brown took 1st, Dan Bell 2nd, and Woody Garwood 3rd. 2WD Modified Buggy 40+ 1. Jack Leighan 2. Ben Jones 3. Jon Sterling In A1, Jack Leighan took off like a shot and couldn’t be caught. He held on and took the win with Ben Jones right behind him. And Jack Leighan does it again in A2. He took off early and held on to the lead until the end. Leighan took the win. Overall Jack Leighan took 1st, Ben Jones 2nd, and Jon Sterling 3rd. 2WD Pro Stock Buggy 1. Chris Bellanca 2. Devin King 3. Garrett Rekdahl During A1, Ryan McGlothern took the lead on the first lap. He drove clean and kept all 4 wheels on the ground which earned him the win. Chris Bellanca was right behind him in 2nd place. Early on in A2, Chris Bellanca took the lead from Garett Rekdahl. Bellanca held off Rekdahl til the end with Devin King right behind them. Bellanca had the lead in A3, but wasn’t able to keep it. Devin King got around him and held on to the lead until the end. Overall Chris Bellanca took 1st, Devin King took 2nd, Garrett Rekdahl took 3rd. 4WD Modified Buggy 1. Austin Cracknell 2. Harley Yoshii 3. Mikey Brown In A1, Austin Cracknell took off in 1st and held off everyone else until the end. Right behind him was Mikey Brown and Harley Yoshii. During A2, Harley Yoshii made the pass around Austin Cracknell to take the win. Right behind them was Mikey Brown who held a steady 3rd position the entire race. Cracknell drove clean the entirety of A3 and took the win. Yoshii did his best to get out front, but he was unable to do it. Right behind them was Derek Mesa and Mikey Brown. Overall Austin Cracknell took 1st, Harley Yoshii took 2nd, and Mikey Brown took 3rd. 2WD Racing Truck 1. Chris Bellanca 2. Jonny Deck 3. Ben Jones Chris Bellanca stayed out front during all of A1. He can thank himself for his clean and focused driving. Right behind him Ben Jones and Jonny Deck were battling it out for that second position. Near the end, Jonny Deck was able to beat Ben Jones to the finish line. Chris Bellenca really showed off in this class. In A2 he held on to the lead until the end. Right behind was Jonny Deck and Ben Jones yet again. Overall Chris Bellanca took 1st, Jonny Deck took 2nd, and Ben Jones took 3rd. 4WD Buggy 1. Jon Sterling 2. Devin King 3. Ryan McGlothern In A1, Jon Sterling took off in the lead and held on to it until the end. Right behind him there was an intense battle for 2nd place. Devin King, Ryan McGlothern, Chris Bellanca, and Audis Jones all went back and forth until the end. King took 2nd and Bellancax took 3rd. Devin King worked hard and fought hard to make his way up to the lead in A2. He held on to it until the end with Jon Sterling and Garrett Rekdahl right behind him. During A3, Sterling did the same thing he did in A1. Clean driving pays off. Overall, Jon Sterling took 1st, Devin King took 2nd, and Ryan McGlothern took 3rd. 2WD Modified Short Course 1. Matt Ortiz 2. Jason King 3. James Johnson During A1, Matt Ortiz took off and did his best to hold off James Johnson and Spencer Kidd who were right on his tail. Ortiz succeeded and took the win in A1. Matt Ortiz did it again in A2, but this time he had Matthew Layman and Jason King following along behind him. Ortiz took the win in A2 and the overall win. Overall, Matt Ortiz took 1st, Jason King took 2nd, and James Johnson took 3rd. 2WD Modified Buggy 1. Harley Yoshii 2. Austin Cracknell 3. Derek Mesa In A1, Austin Cracknell took the lead early on in the race. Harley Yoshii had a few mistakes which put him near the middle of the grid. Derek Mesa and Mikey Brown were behind Cracknell fighting for that second position throughout the whole race. Harley Yoshii and Austin Cracknell were battling it out all of A2. During the last few laps, Cracknell got around Yoshii, but he wasn’t able to hold him off for long. Yoshii made it back to the lead and walked away with the win. During A3, Yoshii took off and held on to the lead until the end. Right behind him was Cracknell and right behind Cracknell was Mesa. Overall, Harley Yoshii took 1st, Austin Cracknell took 2nd, and Derek Mesa took 3rd. It's time to get pumped for NIS Round #2!! It's next weekend, 12/10 and 12/11. With that being said, we had planned on changing the track this Thursday but due to weather, equipment, and crew availability, the track change will now be on TUESDAY, 12/6! If you can come help, please do. We appreciate any help we can get!
NIS Round #1 was a success!Northwest Indoor Series round #1 has come to an end! It was a weekend full of close racing, intense battles, and fun with friends. And after you all voted, we will be going back to the TRADITIONAL 2-DAY FORMAT. We couldn't be more excited! This is going to be a good one. We can't wait to see all of you amazing racers there. The 2022 Northwest Goldcup has come to an end. What a great turnout we had! It was a weekend full off close races and fun with friends. Everyone at TRCR wants to thank you all for coming out and racing, we always enjoy having you. Here's the podium pictures and a race report of the mains. During the A mains of the Rookie class, Cameron King had a rough start during the beginning of A1. Korey Michael and LJ Aviso battled it out for the lead, but Cameron slowly crept back up on them. Cameron took over the lead and finished in that 1st place position. During A2, Cameron had a great start. He stayed out in the lead the entire race and was able to take 1st place overall of the Rookie class. LJ Aviso finished 2nd, while Korey Michael finished 3rd. Winning the 4X4 Truggy class was a breeze for Jon Sterling. In both of A1 and A2, Jon Sterling stayed out front and finished in the 1st place position overall. Keith Himmelman finished 2nd overall, while Matthew Layman finished 3rd overall. In the first main of 4WD Modified Buggy, Austin Cracknell was able to hold off Harley Yoshii until just about 45 seconds to go. Austin made a mistake and had to give the 1st place position up. During the last few laps, Austin put pressure on Harley, but it just wasn’t enough. Harley took 1st place in A1. During A2, Austin and Harley fought back and forth the entire race. Harley was able to finish in 1st place with Austin right behind him. Overall, the 1st place position for 4WD Modified Buggy goes to Harley Yoshii. Austin finished 2nd overall with Matthew Ortiz right behind in the 3rd position. Spencer Kidd took away the overall win for 2WD Stock Buggy 17.5, but it wasn’t easy. During A1, Matthew Layman was able to get around him and take over that 1st place. Glen Schunk and Matthew Layman then battle it out to the end. Matthew Layman was able to come out of that race with a win. During A2, Spencer Kidd starts out front and stays out front. Because of his smooth driving, Spencer was able to finish in the 1st place position. Behind him, Rob Dodge and Darin Duncan were battling it out for the second position. In A3, Spencer Kidd did the same thing. He kept calm and collected which gave him the win. Overall, Spencer Kidd came in 1st, Matthew Layman came in 2nd, and Rob Dodge came in 3rd. During the first main of 2WD Pro Stock Buggy 17.5, Devin King got out front and stayed out front until the end. Behind Devin, Ryan McGlothern, Audis Jones, and Garrett Rekdahl were all battling for that 2nd position. In A2, Devin did the same thing. He drove clean and kept his wheels on the ground. He took that 1st position which then led to him being 1st overall in the class. Ryan McGlothern came 2nd overall and Garrett Rekdahl 3rd overall. Matthew Ortiz made it look easy after he took 1st place overall in 2WD Modified Short Course Truck. In A1, he stayed out front until the end. But behind him, Spencer Kidd, Rick Smith, and Matthew Layman were all battling for that 3rd position. In the beginning of A2, Donny Banks got out in front of Matthew Ortiz. Donny didn’t hold him off for long. Donny pulls a wheelie on the straightaway which allowed Matt to take back the 1st place position. Matt Ortiz ended up 1st overall, Donny Banks ended 2nd overall, and Matthew Layman ended 3rd overall. In 2WD Modified Buggy (40 and over), Jack Leighan took the win. In both A1 and A2, Jack Leighan stayed out front, drove smooth and under control. But during A1, towards the end, Jon Sterling and Shawn Ketting were battling it out for the 2nd place spot. During A2, Jon Sterling and Ben Jones were battling for the 2nd position all while Keith Rockwell were right behind him. Jack Leighan placed 1st overall. Jon Sterling placed 2nd overall. Keith Rockwell placed 3rd overall. The first A main of 4WD Buggy 13.5, Devin King starts out front, but then falls down to the 6th position. While Devin King tries to make his way back up to the front, Ryan McGlothern , Jon Sterling, and Jason King all battle back and forth for that 1st place position. Devin makes it back up to that number two spot. Ryan McGlothern finishes first with Devin King right behind him in the 2nd position. During A2, Devin King started out front. After driving smart and smooth, Devin King finished 1st. In A3, Devin King and Ryan McGlothern battle together the entire race. They go back and forth. In the last couple laps, Ryan bobbles coming off the straightaway. Devin King gets by and holds off Ryan until the end. After an intense race, Devin King comes out on top overall. Ryan McGlothern takes the 2nd position overall. Jon Sterling takes the 3rd position. During the first A main of 2WD Racing Truck 13.5, Donny Banks raced with nearly zero mistakes and took the win. In A2, Donny Banks makes a mistake early. That puts Jonny Deck and Mike Shea out front. Jonny Deck held off Mike Shea and took the win of A2. Donny Banks takes off with the lead in A3. With pressure from Jonny Deck, Donny rolls over and Jonny takes the lead. Jonny Deck was able to hold off Donny Banks and take the win. So with that, Donny Banks places 1st place overall, Jonny Deck places 2nd overall, and Mike Shea places 3rd overall. In the first main of 2WD Modified Buggy, Harley Yoshii was able to take the lead in the first couple laps, but he wasn’t able to hold off Austin Cracknell for long. Closer to the end of the race, Austin took the lead back from Harley and finished in the 1st place position. During A2, Harley had a rough first couple laps. He found his groove and was able to make the pass on Austin. Harley grabbed that 1st place position early and held onto it until the end. The result of A3 ended with Harley Yoshii taking the win. This race was full of intensity. Austin had the lead for about 6 laps, but Harley was able to get around him and take the lead. Overall, Harley Yoshii took 1st place, Austin Cracknell took 2nd place, and Matt Ortiz took 3rd place. Click the button below to stay up to date on everything RC!!
